Atypical sensory based behaviours (aka hypersensitivity) are perfectly normal for humans with autism. At least one of their five senses will experience an altered reality compared to most plebeians. Imagine sensing the most minute detail of an object - down to the anatomy of a carpet fiber- on an everyday basis. It's its own kind of superpower.

Triggers for sensory overload exist in you, in me, in a coffee cup, in a blade of grass. Children with autism have trouble communicating the prolonged latencies in their auditory processing that cause what normies deem irrational behavior.

An apparatus of compassion can only grow so strong from vocal portrayals provided by other pleebs. Without guilt and with full curiosity of another side of the human experience, you can press play above and step into the enigmatic mind of a hypersensitive being while they interact with objects that are commonly labeled as mundane.
